Children learn through PLAY, Making Elementary Years an Adventure

Children are not empty vessels to be filled with facts. They are discoverers and explorers, ready to engage with the world in all its beauty and complexity. In this session, Sue will show parents how to transform the elementary years into a joyful adventure, balancing essential content with the “other C’s”: collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and connection.  Through play, hands-on experiences, and family adventures, children learn to take intellectual and social risks, solve problems, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Backed by brain science and successful educational models from around the world, this approach helps children grow academically, socially, and emotionally while creating lasting memories. Sue will also stress the power of family reading; a day on the couch with a book together is worth more than a month of worksheets. Come be encouraged to step away from outdated educational models and discover how to make learning at home an inspiring, character-building journey.
